Singay, a successful man in his mid-30s, recalls the moment when officials from the Rural Education Department visited his remote village in Changthang, Ladakh, to take him – and possibly his pet lamb – to boarding school.

Stenzin belongs to a nomad tribe called ‘changpa’ in the remote Himalayan region of Ladakh (India) and he is an independent filmmaker. After graduating from media studies in Symbiosis Center for Media and Communication, Stenzin has worked as a freelance assistant director in commercials and films in Mumbai, India. Stenzin has also worked with numerous NGO’s like Teach for India (TFI), Ladakh art and Media Organization (LAMO). He currently works with Dharamshala International Film Festival as the technical assistant at the festival.
