Terre di mezzo

Favourite Sara’s homework for summer holidays is to grow and take care of a little tomato seedling. But her family lives in a flat, so she will plant it in a small abusive vegetable garden that her grandparents raised in an abandoned and hidden land between town and countryside. While her mum works precariously in a mushroom patch, Sara spends her time with her grandparents, trying to teach them Italian and learning from their traditional know- how. The little garden became a place of serenity and exchange for the whole family, even for Sara’s mum who has been fired. But some fellows see the crops and report it to the authority and their precarious situation seems to collapse.
