The Potato Eaters
The film is based on the classical painting by Vincent van Gogh. The painter wanders through the landscape of his paintings a watches scenes from rural life. In the end he gets invited to a country house where he sees the potato eaters. The suggestive film honours van Gogh’s handwriting but shifts it to black and white.

Martin Kukal was born in Kolín, Czech Republic, in 1989. He graduated at the TBU in Zlín Atelier of Animation. He lives and works anywhere, where he can and tries to do his best. Among his works: “The Reward”, “The Potatoes Eaters” and his first comedy “The Spellbound” (presented at Corto e Fieno).
