Thomas Kunstler (b. 1991 in Rome, Italy) is an Italian filmmaker / stop motion animator who currently lives and works in Athens. He received his degree in Film Production in 2015, specialising on Directing and Documentary Production, from the University For The Creative Arts, (Farnham, United Kingdom). His work has been featured in multiple festivals like the Animasyros Film Festival (Syros, Greece), Herceg Novi Film Festival (Montenegro), Aesthetica Short Film Festival (York, UK), the RTS Student Television Awards (London, UK), London Short Film Festival and more. In 2020 is selected as participant to the 18th Berlinale Talents program. Today he lives in Athens, Greece. In collaboration with different film festivals and independently, he leads animation workshop for children in Greece and abroad. His latest work deals with Greek music and culture. He’s currently working on Markos: a stop motion animation feature film about Rembetiko music, and a short stop motion film Endless Hole, All produced by the Athens based production house StudioBauhaus.
